The PB/Angus Reid gap moves up to 14 points

CON 40% (38)
LAB 26% (25)
LD 18% (20)

But Labour gets its biggest AR share yet

There’s a new PB/Angus Reid poll out this evening which shows both Labour and the Tories moving forward at the expense of the Lib Dems.

The Labour share has continued the steady improvement from the 22% at the end of November. This evening’s 26% is the highest that the pollster has recorded since the PB/Angus Reid polling series began last October.

Even though the base figure for Labour is smaller the trend in the poll is very much in line with other firms.

The Tory share is now back at 40% – the highest level that the party has seen from AR. All this points, I’d suggest, to an increasing polarisation as we get closer to the big day.

Angus Reid continue to chalk up a very high proportion for others compared with other polls. From the data from recent polls supporters of UKIP/GRN/BNP say they less likely to vote than those of the mainstream parties and are more likely to change their mind. In many cases. of course, there won’t be a candidates of their chosen parties standing in their constituencies and I’d expect the others aggregate to decline as we get nearer to the big day.

Hopefully I’ll be able to update this post later with the link to the full data.
