Earlier this evening I watched this BBC Parliament Channel interview with former Labour pollster Deborah Mattinson.
She was at the heart of the party for many years and her insights about the public’s view of politicians, politics and the political process are a good reminder to us all. For there’s a massive disconnect between what goes on at Westminster and the lives of the vast majority of voters. This is something that we should never forget.
If you’ve got 15 minutes she is well worth watching.
